Located about 2.5–3 km east of the Tsamakaberd neighborhood in Sevan, there is a small chapel known locally as the “Mashdotsner.”
The name “Mashdotsner” is also used to refer to the mountains to the east of the chapel, one of which is where the chapel is situated on its southern slopes. The name “Mashdotsner” is associated with Catholicos Mashdots I. Yegivardetsi, who is said to have come to the opposite mountains of Sevan Island to meditate. Tradition has it that the spring flowing next to the chapel has healing properties. From the chapel, there is a view of the small Sevan side, and in front, one can see the dense forest stretching along the slopes of Mashdotsner.
Սևան քաղաքի Ցամաքաբերդ կոչվող թաղամասի մոտ ՝ 2,5֊3 կմ դեպի արևելք գտնվում է մի փոքրիկ մատուռ, որ տեղացիներն անվանում են ՝ «Մաշտոցներ» Մաշտոցներ են անվանում նաև մատուռից արևելք ընկած լեռները, որոնց հարավային լանջերից մեկի վրա էլ այն տեղակայված է։
