The Sevan National Park Visitor Center opened in 1996. Through its exhibits, visitors learn that the first inhabitants of Sevan were the Malakans, who settled in the area during the 1840.
The first settler was Esayi Yerzhov.
At the Natural History Museum, visitors can learn about the flora and fauna of Sevan, such as the fact that there are over 1,800 medicinal plant species in the region. The museum also houses the largest pike ever caught from Lake Sevan.
Additionally, visitors can become acquainted with the endemic tree and rock species of the Sevan Basin.
