On the adjacent hillside to our city, the trees we planted earlier are a symbol of heroism. Even with the brisk mountain air, scorching sun, and strong winds, the trees have fought hard and are growing strong. This year we were lucky with a gentle summer, it will probably lead to a long, cold winter. The trees still stand on the hill in the pleasant summer weather. The beginning of the summer did not have a lot of rain, so we were worried about the trees and whether or not they would flourish. The trees are a symbol of hope in the area and if they can survive the environment, so can we. Our city’s Youth and Young Peoples Initiative, led by Tigran Tadevosyan, have worked to keep the trees watered by the World War II memorial. We also have Garick, he lives near the monument and was in charge of getting the event organized. With the work they have done 60-70% of the trees seem to be flourishing and doing better than expected. Once again, this proves that man is nothing without nature or our human nature.
