How much will you toil to free yourself from the stone that binds you?’ – This is the name given by Murad Hovakimyan to his sculpture, which depicts an angel embedded in stone. The sculpture is located on Sayat-Nova Street in Sevan. Murad recounts that many years ago, he presented his project to the city hall, suggesting they invite talented sculptors from all over Armenia. The newly created sculptures would be installed in various parts of Sevan, with the city hall committing to provide accommodation and meals for the artists. The project was fully successful, and as a result, 11 magnificent sculptures were placed in Sevan.

At the end of the street, Murad Hovakimyan’s “Phoenix” sculpture will greet you. The remaining sculptures can be found in other parts of Sevan, such as in front of the Church of the Holy Archangels, near Sevan State College, and close to the former ZIM factory.
